Crowns, Onlays/Inlays And Bridges

“Dr. Monroe will work with you to give you a confident smile. At Colorado Center for Dental Excellence, we want you to speak, chew, and laugh with total confidence. Teeth weakened with old fillings, cavities, fractures, or missing teeth can be beautifully restored with crowns, onlays and bridges.”

CROWNS

Crowns are needed for teeth with cosmetic or structural problems and fit over the entire tooth like a cap, covering imperfections. We can use porcelain crowns to restore beauty and function.

Crowns not only make damaged and stained teeth look better, they also add strength to teeth with structural problems. Crowns are an excellent choice when the tooth still has strong, healthy roots.

They are recommended for:

  • Tooth fractures
  • Large fillings
  • Large cavities
  • Teeth that have had root canals

We are pleased to offer state-of–the-art CEREC® 3D ONE VISIT technology.

ONLAYS AND INLAYS

  • Stronger alternative to filling material

BRIDGES

Bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. The neighboring teeth around the missing tooth are used as supports and are crowned. The missing tooth is replaced with a crown that is soldered to the supporting crowns.

The advantages of a bridge are:

  • Restoration of your smile
  • Maintains the shape of your face
  • Restores your ability to properly chew and speak
  • Distributes the forces in your mouth to properly bite
  • Prevents the remaining teeth from shifting out of their proper position (since your bite can dramatically change by missing a tooth)

Bridges can be made out of:

  • Gold
  • Porcelain fused to gold
  • All Porcelain
